Tarpon Dreams™ Film and Field Notes exist to document more than successful catches. It records the destinations, fisheries, guides, conditions, people and practical decisions that shape a complete tarpon fishing trip.

Every destination looks different from the boat than it does in a travel advertisement. The water changes. Weather moves through. Bait appears and disappears. Access points, accommodations and fishing pressure can affect an experience as much as the fish themselves. Our Tarpon Fishing Films capture that larger story and bring viewers closer to the places and people behind each adventure.

The goal is not to make every trip look perfect. The goal is to show what actually happened and preserve the information that may help someone plan a better journey.

I have been doing this for years. Is it Geeky?

Maybe a bit, but it has paid huge fishing dividends.

As soon as our phones got SMART, my FISHING got SMARTER. Using Simple Tools: The Camera. Google Docs. Notes. Voice Memos. Coordinates / Trip Tracking. Google Earth on the Phone (back then Keyhole). KML Files.

There was NO Reason NOT to Record what was happening. No Paper “NUMBERS BOOK”. Just your Phone.

Nowadays… Way More Tools. But keep it simple, so you actually do it and use it. And Yes, we will be sharing a ton of our Field Notes within the Community. But our Goal is to have you creating and using your OWN Field Notes. That is Gold.

Stories From the Water and the Road

A Tarpon Dreams fishing film may begin with a destination, but the story extends well beyond the first cast. We document travel routes, local communities, marinas, accommodations, meals, guides, boats and the daily preparation required to fish unfamiliar water.

Some films will focus on established tarpon fishing destinations. Others will follow new fisheries, exploratory trips and emerging opportunities across Florida, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and the greater Atlantic tarpon range.

The fish may bring us there, but the complete destination determines whether we want to return.

Field Notes Built From Firsthand Research

Tarpon Fishing Field Notes are the working record behind the finished films. They contain firsthand observations gathered while fishing, traveling and researching each destination.

We pay attention to seasonal fishing windows, weather patterns, water conditions, access, tackle, guide operations, lodging, restaurants and the practical details that rarely appear in polished travel copy. We also record what changed, what surprised us, what worked and what someone planning the same trip deserves to know.

These notes are not presented as permanent rules. Fisheries change, businesses change and conditions vary from one season to the next. Field Notes are updated as Tarpon Dreams returns to a destination, develops new partnerships and gathers better information.

The People Behind the Fishery

A fishing destination is only as strong as the people who protect it, work in it and help visitors experience it responsibly.

Our Tarpon Fishing Films and Field Notes introduce anglers to independent captains, charter operations, fishing lodges, accommodation providers, local businesses and community voices. We want visitors to understand who is doing the work, how the fishery operates and why supporting credible local partners matters.

Tarpon Dreams does not automatically recommend every business that appears in a film or article.

Recommendations are earned through firsthand experience, continuing research and confidence that we would send a close friend to the same operation.
